This guide explains how to install your CookieScript banner directly on your website using the Script tag installation method.

If you are installing CookieScript using Google Tag Manager, follow How to install CookieScript with Google Tag Manager.

If you are using a supported platform integration, see Integration with other systems.

If you are installing the banner on a pre-production or staging website, see Pre-production and staging websites.

Install the banner

  1. From the CookieScript Dashboard, open the banner you want to install.

  2. Go to Install.

  3. Select Script tag.

Using GEO-targeting?
Before copying the code, follow How to geographically target your cookie compliance. GEO-targeting affects the generated CookieScript installation code and has specific installation requirements.

  1. Copy the generated CookieScript code.

  2. Insert the CookieScript code into the <head> section of your website.

  3. Make sure the CookieScript code is included on every page where the banner should be shown.

Using Google Consent Mode?
Follow the Google Consent Mode v2 installation guides for your implementation method.

Check the installation

After adding the CookieScript code to your website, open the banner's Overview page.

Use the one-click banner implementation check to verify whether the banner is implemented on your website.

If the banner appears on your website but CookieScript still reports that it has not been added, see Cookie banner is not added to the website yet.

You can also use the Cookie Scanner to scan your website for cookies.
