Starting from September 1, 2026, CookieScript introduces a new and improved cookie banner design.
The updated design provides more customization possibilities, improved usability, and better accessibility support.
New banners
All cookie banners created on or after September 1, 2026 will use the new design by default.
No additional action is required when creating a new banner.
Existing banners
Cookie banners created before September 1, 2026 will continue using the previous design unless you choose to enable the new one manually.
To enable the new design for an existing banner:
Open your banner settings.
Navigate to the Design section.
Enable Use new improved design.
Save your changes and review the banner appearance on your website.
We recommend checking the banner after switching to the new design, especially if you use custom styling or advanced design settings.
Important information about the old design
The previous banner design will remain available for existing banners for the time being. However, it is now considered a legacy design.
The old design will:
continue to receive limited maintenance and selected bug fixes;
not receive major design improvements;
not support most new banner features introduced in the future.
To benefit from future CookieScript improvements, new customization options, and accessibility enhancements, we recommend switching existing banners to the new improved design.
Do I need to switch immediately?
No. Existing banners using the old design will continue to work.
However, we recommend moving to the new design when convenient, as future development will primarily focus on the improved banner design.
