You can add legal documents, such as a Privacy Policy or Cookie Policy, to your CookieScript cookie banner.
Choose which type of document you want to add and how you want to add it.
How to Add a Privacy Policy to Your Cookie Banner
You can add a Privacy Policy to your CookieScript banner in four main ways:
Add a link to an existing Privacy Policy
Generate a Privacy Policy in CookieScript
Upload a Privacy Policy as a PDF file
Write or edit a Privacy Policy using the Text Editor
Option 1: Add a Link to an Existing Privacy Policy
Use this option if your Privacy Policy is already published on your website or hosted on another page.
To add a link to your Privacy Policy:
Go to your CookieScript Dashboard.
Select the cookie banner where you want to add the Privacy Policy.
Open the Documents section.
Click ADD DOCUMENT.
Select Privacy Policy as the document type.
Choose the option to add a link or URL.
Click Save.
The Privacy Policy link will be added to your cookie banner and stored in the Documents Gallery.
Option 2: Generate a Privacy Policy in CookieScript
Use this option if you want CookieScript to create a Privacy Policy document for you.
To generate a Privacy Policy:
Go to your CookieScript Dashboard.
Select the cookie banner where you want to add the Privacy Policy.
Open the Documents section.
Click ADD DOCUMENT.
Select Privacy Policy as the document type.
Choose Generated Document.
Review the generated Privacy Policy.
Make any needed changes.
Click Save.
The generated Privacy Policy will be added to your cookie banner and stored in the Documents Gallery.
Option 3: Upload a Privacy Policy PDF
Use this option if you already have a Privacy Policy as a PDF file and want to show it through your cookie banner.
To upload a Privacy Policy PDF:
Go to your CookieScript Dashboard.
Select the cookie banner where you want to add the Privacy Policy.
Open the Documents section.
Click ADD DOCUMENT.
Select Privacy Policy as the document type.
Choose the option to upload a file.
Upload your Privacy Policy PDF.
Click Save.
The uploaded Privacy Policy PDF will be added to your cookie banner and stored in the Documents Gallery.
Option 4: Write or Edit a Privacy Policy Using the Text Editor
Use this option if you want to write your Privacy Policy directly in CookieScript or paste text from an existing Privacy Policy.
To create or edit a Privacy Policy with the Text Editor:
Go to your CookieScript Dashboard.
Select the cookie banner where you want to add the Privacy Policy.
Open the Documents section.
Click ADD DOCUMENT.
Select Privacy Policy as the document type.
Choose TEXT EDITOR.
Write your Privacy Policy text or paste your existing Privacy Policy into the editor.
Click Save.
The Privacy Policy created with the Text Editor will be added to your cookie banner and stored in the Documents Gallery.
How to Add a Cookie Policy to Your Cookie Banner
You can add a Cookie Policy to your CookieScript banner in four main ways:

Option 3: Upload a Cookie Policy PDF
Use this option if you already have a Cookie Policy as a PDF file and want to show it through your cookie banner.

Select the cookie banner where you want to add the Cookie Policy.
Open the Documents section.
Click ADD DOCUMENT.
Select Cookie Policy as the document type.
Choose the option to upload a file.

Click Save.
The uploaded Cookie Policy PDF will be added to your cookie banner and stored in the Documents Gallery.
Option 4: Write or Edit a Cookie Policy Using the Text Editor
Use this option if you want to write your Cookie Policy directly in CookieScript or paste text from an existing Cookie Policy.
To create or edit a Cookie Policy with the Text Editor:
Go to your CookieScript Dashboard.
Select the cookie banner where you want to add the Cookie Policy.
Open the Documents section.
Click ADD DOCUMENT.
Select Cookie Policy as the document type.
Choose TEXT EDITOR.
Write your Cookie Policy text or paste your existing Cookie Policy into the editor.
Review the document.
Click Save.
The Cookie Policy created with the Text Editor will be added to your cookie banner and stored in the Documents Gallery.
Where to Find Added Documents
All documents added to a cookie banner are shown in the Documents Gallery at the bottom of the Documents page.
You can return to the Documents Gallery later to view, edit, update, or manage the documents connected to that banner.
Adding Documents in Multiple Languages
If your website uses more than one language, you can add translated versions of your Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
To enable document translations:
Open the cookie banner you want to edit.
Go to Settings.
Open Translations.
Enable additional languages.
Add the languages you want to support.
Click Save.
To translate a Privacy Policy or Cookie Policy:
Open the Documents section.
Go to the Documents Gallery.
Click Edit on the document you want to translate.
Use the language bar at the top to select the language.
Add or edit the translated document text.
Click Save This Language.
CookieScript will show the correct document language based on the visitor’s language settings.
