Auto-Detect Button and Vendor List Behavior
In addition to enabling automatic detection in settings, you can also run a one-time vendor detection scan directly from the vendor list.
Running Auto-Detect Manually
Navigate to Frameworks in your dashboard.
Enable IAB TCF 2.3 if it is not already enabled.
Click Edit Vendors list.
Click the Auto-detect button.
When you press Auto-detect, the system will initiate a new website scan to detect advertising vendors currently present on your website.
This scan will analyze the website and update the vendor list based on the detected vendors.
Important:
The Auto-detect button only applies to that specific scan. If you have monthly automatic scans enabled, those scans will run normally but will not automatically apply the Auto-detect vendor update unless the Auto-Detect Advertising Vendors setting is enabled.
Vendor List Update Logic
How the vendor list is updated depends on whether the list has been modified manually.
Case 1: Vendor List Was Not Manually Modified
If all vendors were originally selected and the list has not been manually edited, then after the scan:
Only the vendors detected on the website will remain selected.
Vendors not detected during the scan will be automatically unselected.
This ensures the configuration only includes vendors that are actually present on the website.
Case 2: Vendor List Was Manually Edited
If you manually disabled some vendors before running the scan:
Vendors that were previously disabled but detected during the scan will be re-enabled automatically.
Vendors that were not detected during the scan will not be automatically disabled if they were manually selected.
This behavior ensures that manual configuration choices are respected and the system does not remove vendors you intentionally selected.
Continuous Vendor Detection (Automatic Updates)
If you enable the Auto-Detect Advertising Vendors option and save the settings:
Every future scan will check the website for vendors.
The vendor list will be updated automatically after each scan.
This applies to both:
Manual scans
Scheduled monthly scans
This keeps your vendor configuration continuously synchronized with the technologies actually used on your website.
