How To Add A Cookie To All Banners

This article provides a quick tutorial on adding a new cookie to ALL your cookie consent banners.

Instead of repeatedly entering the exact details, you can do it once, and CookieScript will automatically apply your cookie across all banners.

Here’s what you need to do:

1. Open your Dashboard

First, log into your CookieScript account and head to the Dashboard page.

2. Choose your banner

Select the banner you'd like to use as a starting point by clicking on it to open the settings.

3. Navigate to "Cookies"

Click on the Cookies tab to access cookie management options within your banner settings.

4. Add your cookie

Locate and click the Add New Cookie button. A form will appear, prompting you to enter details.

5. Enter your cookie information

• Type in the exact name of your cookie.

• Specify the domain where this cookie will be active.

  • If you're adding a cookie to a banner matching its own website URL (e.g., your banner is on domain1.com and you add a cookie specifying domain1.com), CookieScript recognizes this as a first-party cookie. It will automatically add this cookie to every banner associated with that specific URL.

  • If you specify a different domain than your banner’s website URL (e.g., your banner is on domain1.com but you add a cookie specifying domain2.com), CookieScript recognizes this as a third-party cookie. It will then automatically add this cookie to every banner associated with the specified third-party domain (domain2.com).

• Set how long you want the cookie to stay active.

6. Apply it everywhere

Once you've filled in the details, click the Add Cookie To All Banners button. CookieScript will instantly add your cookie to every banner you manage.

If a cookie with the same name already exists on some banners, CookieScript will update it to match your latest details.
