CookieScript automatically records visitors' cookie consent decisions, allowing you to download and review consent records for verification and compliance purposes.

Note: User Consent Recording is included in the CookieScript Plus plan.
Where to find User Consent Recording
You can access User Consent Recording directly from your CookieScript dashboard.
Log in to your CookieScript account.
Select the cookie banner you want to manage using the banner selector at the top of the dashboard.
Click Consents in the left-hand menu.
The User consents page displays the recording status for your selected cookie banner.
From this page, you can:
Check whether consent recording is enabled.
Download user consent records for a selected date range.
Combine consent records into one file.
Reset all user consents.
Check when user consents were last reset.
How to enable or disable consent recording
Consent recording is enabled by default in CookieScript. You can enable or disable it for each cookie banner individually.
To change the consent recording setting:
Log in to your CookieScript account.
Select the cookie banner you want to manage.
Navigate to Settings > Main settings.
Scroll down to Enable Consent Recording.
Use the toggle to enable or disable consent recording.
To check whether consent recording is enabled, navigate to Consents in the left-hand menu. When recording is active, the page displays a green notification stating "Consent recording is enabled."
Note: Collect Cookie Banner Analytics and Enable Consent Recording are separate settings.
Consent recording with IAB TCF 2.4
When IAB TCF 2.4 is enabled, CookieScript may override the Enable Consent Recording setting to meet IAB TCF requirements.
If the setting conflicts with these requirements, CookieScript applies the required behavior and displays a warning in the dashboard.

How to download user consents
CookieScript allows you to download recorded consent decisions for a selected time period.
Download consent records
Log in to your CookieScript account.
Select the relevant cookie banner.
Click Consents in the left-hand menu.
Find the Download user consents section.
Click the date-range field.
Select the start and end dates for the records you want to download.
If you want to combine the records into one file, select Combine files into one.
Click Download.
CookieScript downloads the consent records for the selected period.
Download formats
CookieScript provides consent records in CSV (Comma-Separated Values) format.
The Combine files into one option allows you to combine the consent records from the selected date range into a single CSV file.
When you select Combine files into one and click Download, CookieScript downloads a ZIP archive containing one CSV file with the combined consent records.
If you leave this option unchecked, CookieScript downloads the records without combining them into a single file.
How to reset user consents
The Reset user consents feature allows you to clear existing cookie consents and require returning visitors to confirm their cookie preferences again.
You can use this functionality when making changes to your Cookie Policy or as part of regular privacy audits.
Reset all user consents
Log in to your CookieScript account.
Select the relevant cookie banner.
Click Consents in the left-hand menu.
Find the Reset user consents section on the right-hand side of the page.
Click Reset all consents.
After the reset, returning visitors will be required to reconfirm their cookie preferences.
Check when user consents were last reset
The Reset user consents section displays the date and time of the most recent reset.
You can find this information next to "Last time consent was reset on:"
CookieScript displays the timestamp in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time).

Download user consents using the CookieScript API
CookieScript also allows you to download consent records through its API (Application Programming Interface). You can use this functionality to automate consent record downloads for a selected cookie banner and time period.
