How to scan a password-protected website?

If you are developing your website and it is password-protected, you should use this option to allow If you are developing your website and it is password-protected, you should use this option to allow CookieScript Cookie Scanner to scan your website. Our Cookie Scanner will use login and password credentials to access your website.

To activate this option, perform the following steps:

1. Go to your CookieScript account > Scans and check the checkbox Website is under the password.

2. Check the button Edit credentials and enter login and password:
   
   

Done, our Cookie Scanner can access and scan your password-protected website for cookies and other tracking tools.

Note: We only support basic HTTP authentication, when the credentials are sent to the server for every request. We do not support traditional Login and Password authentication (password-based authentication) to enter a website or a dashboard (that requires login pages), when a session for the user is created, usually through a session cookie.

Note: If you made your website available without a password but forget to uncheck the Website is under the password checkbox at CookieScript settings, it will not be a problem. Our Cookie Scanner will access and scan your website.
